I believe if a VW dealer replaced your pads they’d be semi metallic, stop quickly, and have a good amount of brake dust. I went with Akebonos and yes they have a tiny bit less bite. But I have virtually no brake dust and I hear they last a fair bit longer. I’m happy with them

Pros: less brake dust, longer lasting
Cons: less bite

I use my s4 for dd, and use Stoptech cross drilled with Akebono ceramic. The lack of brake dust is unbelievable, and this set up generally gets me tons of miles out of them

Pros: unbelievable lack of dust, long lasting

Up for sale are new Ferodo DS2500 brake pads for an MK7 Golf R. I had bought these to replace my noisy new Hawk pads, but have decided to just stick with the noisy hawk pads.

Cons: noisy hawk pads
Part number: FCP4425H

Akebono Brake pads

I hate akebono pads. They last a long time but feel like crap and don't stop the car nearly as well.

Pros: long lasting
Cons: poor stopping power, bad feel
Vehicle: BMW
