Brake discs Brembo or Zimmermann

Brembo Brake discs

Another user exposed my disc to road salt, cold padel feel, longevity are all came back very positive, and his SUV has accumulated almost 113,000 miles without a single issue.

Pros: longevity very positive
Cons: bit more expensive
Mileage: 181851 km

Zimmermann Brake discs

I'm going to need front brakes soon. Last time I got brakes I ordered one of their Zimmerman/Akebono kits that covered all four corners, rotors and pads. I only need front pads and rotors, so I was going to order the same kit, just for the front, and then send in my old pads and rotors off the front.

Pros: great deal

Get some slightly more aggressive pads and GOOD OEM blank rotors i.e. Brembro. Do SS lines ATE super blue fluid or whatever the current offering is (they can't do blue anymore).

Pros: more aggressive pads

Zimmermann Brake discs

Go with good solid OE quality coated rotors, and a low dust pad like Zimmerman and Akebono, Brembo, etc. You'll probably never push the limits of the stock brakes if youre not tracking the car.

Pros: good solid OE quality
Cons: slotted eat pads
Vehicle: BMW

Just wanted to give a heads up for anyone who is interested in swapping your stock front 2012+ Beetle Turbo Brakes with MK7 GTI PP / S3 / R / Clubsport brakes/rotors/pads. The upgrade went well and was worth it, even looks so much better with the larger caliper and rotor.

Pros: worth it, looks better
Cons: dust shield useless
Vehicle: Volkswagen Beetle

I just bought zimmerman cross-drilled rotors for the fronts. Cross-drilled rotors are lighter but do not dissipate heat better (less material to soak up heat). Stock or slotted rotors are best for soaking up heat.

Pros: rotors are lighter
Cons: do not dissipate heat better

Looks sharp, but remember slotted and drilled rotors are really pretty worthless in most cases until you get to really aggressive track only brake pads at extremely fast advanced level pace (or race pace).

Cons: worthless in most cases
Vehicle: BMW
