these older calipers are notorious for binding up on the ebrake actuator go get a newer pair at the junkyard new design is better.

Pros: newer design is better
Cons: ebrake actuator binding

I have done both the front and rear Golf R swap on mine. Tiguan rears are 300x11mm solid discs, Golf R are 310x22mm vented discs. Rears bolt right up, only thing to be aware of is you need to swap the electric ebrake motors from your stock calipers over, as the R calipers do not include them.

Pros: rears bolt right up
Cons: ebrake motors swap needed
Vehicle: Volkswagen Tiguan

I was initially looking at these but I wasn't able to find many options for brake pads. A little bit of digging and I found that isweep makes their full range of pads. But the TTS calipers seem to be the best bang for the buck.

Pros: best bang for buck
Cons: few brake pad options

There is a huge difference in unsprung weight going to the TTS caliper - might want to highlight that as a selling point as well as noting that this set up is not only OEM+ but around half the price of say Neuspeed, Alcon, AP Racing, APR etc upgrades.

Pros: huge difference in weight, half the price
Vehicle: Audi TTS

I feel no difference in pedal feel or stopping distance. It's the aesthetics that made the difference for me.

Pros: aesthetics made the difference
Cons: no difference in pedal feel, no difference stopping distance
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I replaced both rear calipers, pads and both electro mechanical parking brake motors on my 2009 Tiguan. Now the yellow 'P' dashboard symbol is always on.

Cons: yellow 'P' dashboard on
Vehicle: Volkswagen Tiguan

A couple weekends ago I first tried to tackle the issue with the brake pedal nearly hitting the floor while driving, I figured it was do to the brakes needing to be bled, so on a weekend I put the car up in the air, proceeded to snap both bleeder screws on the calipers, swap on used ones off my red 16v and bleed the brakes.

Pros: bled the brakes
Cons: pedal felt like crap
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Just wanted to update this thread. I too have a 2013 vw beetle. I originally put on the mk5 r32 front calipers which was rubbing on my rims. They were squeaky and the brake response was way too much when just pulling out when first started.

Pros: dust cover works perfectly
Cons: rubbing on rims, squeaky
Vehicle: Volkswagen Beetle
