Alternator Bosch or Denso

Denso Alternator

For anyone looking for a drop in upgrade, I used a 105 amp for a Suzuki. Made by Denso. No harness needed, plugs right in. Going strong for a couple years now in my 3rd gen.

Pros: plugs right in, going strong
Part number: DNP-210-0461

This is a known issue with non OEM and especially bosch alternators, the regulator gives a different signal to the power control unit.

Pros: known issue, regulator signal
Cons: different signal

Denso Alternator

Denso is likely the OE manufacturer, as they provide a lot of MOPAR OE alternators and I know they do for the T&C/Voyager/Pacificas.

Pros: OE manufacturer
Vehicle: Chrysler

Denso Alternator

I’m in the Boston burbs, I got the alternator replaced for $350 with parts (remanufactured OEM Denso alternator) included 3 years ago. $450 sounds about right.

Pros: remanufactured OEM

On day two, the Denso overheated and failed, the diodes had burnt out. I replaced it with the stock 70 A Suzuki alternator, which failed the same way on day four.

Cons: overheated and failed
Vehicle: Suzuki Vitara

I picked up a 07 jetta 2.5 from the auction for a good deal and only 95k on it. The problem is the battery is not charging, figured ok needs new alternator put a bosch unit in and it is still not charging the battery. Put multi meter to the post on alternator and it is only putting off 11.5v.

Cons: not charging the battery
Mileage: 95000 km
