Toyo GSI-6 (non-studded) or G3-Ice (Available studded or non-studded) tires are the best bang for your buck you can get. I have had nothing but good experiences with them on multiple cars. They're also very quiet which is a huge plus on a snow tire for me.
You may also look at Nankang AR1, 100tw semi slicks, if it’s only for track and dry days.
I had great experience, my car weighs 3k lbs, and the set lasted me for 16-17 track days, and it was a used set.
The grip in these tires is insane and improved braking drastically.
I have no complaints with my Pilot Alpin 5’s. Two seasons.
Since you’re dedicating this set purely for HPDE and want something that survives endurance-style sessions without overheating or chunking, the Yokohama Advan Neova AD09 is the best pick among everything you listed. It holds grip longer than PS4S, it’s far more heat-resistant than the Continental Sport 02, and unlike the RT660, it doesn’t fall off a cliff halfway through a session. Perfect match for a VA STI on stock power and mild camber.
I used to buy CEAT, MRF and APOLLO before. For my Himalayan Apollo was the worst in terms of wet grip. Am trying Maxxiss RN and it's the best in Budget
Chill mode shpild be more efficient, but I put my YP in sport mode when there's enough snow and ice on the road to be slippery. I drive with it in chill most of the time for efficiency and to save tires, but last winter the rear stepped out a few times in snow and ice at speeds from 25 MPH around a traffic circle and on a curve going up a steep grade on the interstate at 60 MPH even with Michelin Ice-X tires on 19s.
I cant speak for the K657 specifically, but I ran a Kenda K761 rear on my CM400. I found that the Kenda tire chipped and fragmented really easily but otherwise was just an OK tire.
Every Michelin I've owned has been too loud for me.
I got 65k from my WRG4’s and 60k from my WRG3’s. Coincidentally I only got 50k from my CC2’s not because I ran out of tread, but because they were **so damn loud** I ditched them early.
