I've installed several duralast kits with zero problem.
Owner reviews for timing belt kit
The Aisin TKH-001 belt kit is your best bet. It contains the belt, tensioner, and water pump and it is OEM quality at less cost than Honda service department parts.
I'm about to do mine in a 2017 RDX as well, and just picked up the Aisin kit.
Make sure they use the aisin TKH 002 kit.
I put a Gates kit on mine. I never see any problems with those.
OP, you do not need to do this at a dealer to get a quality product. You can have a qualified independent perform the service with an Aisin timing belt kit (they supply the original parts to the Honda Motor Co) for a lot less than a dealer is going to charge. The end result will be the same product for less.
I have used the aisen kits for almost a decade. They are very good quality & manufactured with high quality Japanese parts . Yes , they are more expensive. Make no mistake , aisen kits are the best timing kits you can buy
Only use Aisin timing belt kits since they contain OEM high quality Japanese made parts.
I paid around $240 for an oem Subaru timing belt kit with new water pump/tensioners/pulleys/seals from bam. Then bought a few jugs of coolant from Walmart for 60$. the shop around me charges 450 for install. Also the oem radiator is made by denso . You can get it off rockauto for 110$.
No way a timing belt kit and water pump costs 1k
