AISIN Timing belt kit

Used a aisin timing belt kit and it worked fine. I did have to buy the longer bolt for the small idler bearing tho since the new ones have 2 bushings instead of just 1.

Pros: worked fine
Cons: needed longer bolt

New timing belt kit installed; thermostat, fan clutch, water pump DONE (also new VW coolant cap). I saved that plastic impeller as a souvenir, cracked from front to back.

Just did my timing belt on my EJ22 (98 Outback Sport) two weeks ago. Gates kit ran me $200. I wouldn't recommend anything aftermarket under Gates.

Pros: reliable quality
Cons: inferior aftermarket alternatives
