Gates Timing belt

This is a solid car at a fair price. I had 3 of these over the years and put over 1 million miles between them. Timing belt every 90k with oem or gates belt only is the only real thing to worry about.

Pros: solid car, fair price
Vehicle: Toyota Avalon

AISIN Timing belt

Re the timing belt, if that has not been done I would get to that immediately. At 350K km it is a ticking time bomb. Use, specify, or supply the Aisin TKH-002 timing belt kit. It is OEM quality

Pros: OEM quality
Vehicle: Honda Pilot
Mileage: 350000 km
Part number: TKH002

AISIN Timing belt

I’ve used dozens of the Aisin TKH002 kits- they come with koyo bearings, a decent tensioner, and a Mitsuboshi timing belt, all very similar to the oem Honda parts. I think the only major difference is the Honda water pumps are usually made by Yamada and the aisin ones are made by aisin… I can’t say I’ve ever had failures with them

Pros: similar to oem Honda parts
Cons: Honda water pumps Yamada
Vehicle: Honda Pilot
Part number: TKH002

OEM Honda Timing belt

Timing belt seems cheap,im guessing aftermarket parts? Id ask for honda genuine parts if i were you- honda tech here, seen cheap aftermarket timing belt components fail and cause engine damage. Valve adjustment seems a lil high,it is tedious to perform. Reason for adjustment? We only adjust if the valves are noisy or run into misfire issues. Rest of parts are within the timing belt work procedure, ask if they can do better since they’re already there. Id skip the valve adjust

Pros: Honda genuine parts
Cons: cheap aftermarket parts fail, valve adjustment tedious

DAYCO Timing belt

Be careful who you purchase from. I bought one a year or so ago everything was great but the timing belt itself broke. I got lucky and didn't bend any valves. Bought a Dayco belt and haven't had any problems.

Cons: timing belt broke

Gates Timing belt

Rating 0.5

I installed a Gates timing kit on my 2011 2.5 N/A 5 speed manual 50k miles ago (150k total). The belt snapped while I was doing 80mph on the turnpike. My valves were bent with deeper internal damage more likely than not.

Cons: belt snapped, engine damage
Mileage: 80467 km
