I can really recommend Hella, these radiators are really close to VAG OEM. The only thing with my VR radiator from Hella was that some fitting issues with the shroud... but the radiator works really good!

I bought the Valeo rad for my 03 GTi from Rockauto for $89. It appears to be exactly the same as stock.
No worries with the nissen branded radiator. I have installed tons of them into mk3 vr6 cars over the years with no issues. They fit perfect and the quality is very good. I have a mk3 fitment nissens branded radiator in my a2vr6 also that I installed a few years ago. It cools the car perfectly fine on both the street and the drag strip.
For better flushing I have also been removing the upper radiator hose and using my garden water hose to flush the radiator (a Nissens radiator I installed half a dozen years ago after finding a leak in the factory radiator).
Looks like overall fitment of the Mishimoto radiator was clean and straight.
The inline Moroso filler neck will be welded to my Mishimoto radiator
Koyo is what I'm using. Quality stuff. I'd highly recommend.
mishimoto makes a great aluminum replacement at a decent cost.
been using the conditioner for years without issue, although it didn't prevent my HG's from leaking eventually.
Roughly 12 months ago, I upgraded the radiator on my 2000 Series 8 (~65,000km/40,000mi) to a Koyo R1443N 48mm N-Flow. The coolant seals blew because the radiator's design allowed air to accumulate, creating hot-spots and leading to seal failure. My water temps never exceeded 90C. After a rebuild, a valve was installed on the radiator elbow, making it quicker to bleed the system, and water temps are now around 77C, about 10C cooler than before. The Koyo radiator's design prevented proper bleeding of the coolant system, causing seal failure.
