I've had a Blackvue hardwired for years, running 24/7, never had a problem even after letting the car sit for days.
Owner reviews for dash cam
I’m a fan of the Viofo A129 Duo. I have one hardwired in both of my cars. Parking mode, 4k front and 2k rear resolutions, fairly easy to hardwire myself, and the app is ok.
This, I got the garmin mini 2 for my wifes car, and wired it off the rear view camera. Super easy and the slimmest camera out there.
I agree. Have had Blackvue in my last 4 cars and love them. Only caveat to them is I've found them VERY particular on what sd card you use. I stick with genuine Blackvue ones now.
I have a Dashcam 46 that saved my bacon when an uninsured driver hit me. The police refused to issue any paperwork despite me showing them what happened.
Said this in the other thread, but Garmin Mini 2. Simple, no screen, made well and you can either use an app on your phone to pull the clips, or put the SD card in a card reader.
I lived in Vegas and last couple years before leaving I had Viofo A129 Plus. Never had a problem.
Thinkware has been great for me
If you don't care about money, buy a BlackVue, if you do, get a Viofo A129 Plus Duo.
You'd think Porsche's own dashcam would be integrated into their car interior, but really its just a dashcam they stick onto your windshield like any other. It's not better than aftermarket cameras either, and I've heard the software is poopookaka. All that for paying 5x the price of an aftermarket dashcam that looks the same with wires tucked in. Theres also the bonus of the crappy design blocking your view if installed as intended on the left side of the mirror, and if installed on the right as to not impede vision, looks absolutely horrendous.
