The factory installed OEM dash cam in my 2022 ATTO3 is actually pretty good and it's always working so it's set and forget.

Pros: pretty good, always working

Impressed so far however the only draw back is it doesnt notify me via phone if a collisson is detected, the next model up however offers this functionality. If it does detect damage the positive is that it puts the recording into a seperate folder so it does not get wiped.

Pros: records when parked, separate damage folder
Cons: no phone collision notification

Get a high-quality dash cam like a VIOFO. Get one with a rear camera and a sensor with excellent night vision. Spend the money to get it professionally installed at a car stereo shop. It will seem pricey, but having your insurance rate go up while being on the expensive side of a hit-and-run can save you some grief.

Pros: high quality, rear camera, excellent night vision, saves grief
Cons: can seem pricey

THINKWARE Dash cam

The day after delivery I had a Thinkware u3000 dashcam front and rear added with external power supply. The camera parking mode is what got me and the web access.

Pros: camera parking mode, web access
Vehicle: Dodge Durango

VIOFO Dash cam

I have a Seal and I put a Viofo A129 Plus Duo in mine. I don't bother with hard-wiring anymore, and I use the included USB cables into the car's front USB socket for power. They're perfect length for front to back connections. I hid my cables along the headliner and windscreen, pulling back the rubber seals along the door and the A pillar trims (be mindful not to block the air bags) . I can't remember if the rear cables ran along the bottom or top, but cables are easy to hide under trim pieces or carpet. Routing the USB power plug to the front socket was tricky because of just how tight the panels were. I used a lot more force than I was used to but was happy with the final result, which was just a tiny bit of cabling sticking out to reach the socket.

Pros: perfect cable length, easy to hide cables
Cons: tricky power routing
Vehicle: BYD

I use a VIOFO, whatever the newer dual channel cam is. It hasn\u2019t let me down yet and has really good quality.

Pros: good quality, hasn't let down
Cons: pricey, older model failed

I run a Garmin Mini 2 with a Dongar Technologies mirror power adapter. It hides behind the mirror so well you dont even realize it is there.

Pros: hides behind mirror

I’m using a BlackVue 900. I had it professionally installed in 2018 and it’s still working flawlessly. Apart from the sound it makes when it starts it’s unnoticeable when in the car. Only regret I have is where the battery unit (optional extra) is mounted underneath the passenger glove box. It makes a bit of noise due to the trim not being up to holding the weight.

Pros: working flawlessly, unnoticeable
Cons: battery unit makes noise
Vehicle: Land Rover

GARMIN Dash cam

I have a Garmin DC57. My only issue with it is sometimes it won’t turn on once the 12v receives power, but as a part of my routine when starting my truck I always check it.

Cons: sometimes won't turn on
