Used these all last season for autocross and track and they performed great, no noticeable fade and bites hard, dust was significantly more than stock though imho
Owner reviews for brake pads
I've had good luck with Raybestos EHT Element 3 pads and coated rotors on my frontier and my wife's elantra. They are pretty well respected on different forums and not to expensive.
I've got an alltrack (same brakes as the standard gti) and I've got ate rotors from fcp with bosch quietcast pads from rock auto. I was just looking for stock replacement and they have 10k miles on them so far with no complaints.
I recently bought brembo pads and rotors for my 330 e46 , got a great deal on them
I bought the Zimmerman/Akebono kit when the E92 needed front brakes. I'm amazed how brake dust has been nearly eliminated and it has good bite.
I too use PowerStops in my 2015 Mazda 3 s GT and 2017 CX-9 GT. Second set in my Mazda 3. They are superior to the OEM and cost ~$200 + tax for both axels including pads, rotors, all hardware and lubricant. Surfacing the old rotors is not worth it.
I replaced brakes on my wife’s CX5 for about $200 in PowerStop parts. Easy peasy.
Akebono Euro pads
My 06 GTI had the rears wear out at 70k. The fronts lasted until 135k. I was completely dumbfounded that the rears wore faster and the fronts lasted that long. I replaced everything with OEM parts and am experiencing similar wear on the new stuff.
About a year ago I bought some Akebono ceramic brake pads for my 2016 and they have given me nothing but grief, notably the fronts whose retainer clips just straight up didn't fit into my caliper so I needed to reuse the stock ones and I also had to grind down the pad ears to fit properly. The fronts were particularly bad (part no. ACT1539).
