Stoptech Sport (aka 309). Quiet on the street and good enough for track days. The only downside is the dust.

Pros: quiet, good for track
Cons: lots of dust
Part number: 309

I used Akebono pads and Zimmerman rotors. At first I didn't think they had the same bite as the OEM pads. After a few hundred miles they are good.

Pros: good after few miles
Cons: less bite than OEM

I use Stoptech Sport pads + Centric blank rotors with NB brake conversion on my 91 NA. I mostly daily drive my car, but will occasionally take it on mountain runs or the occasional autocross. Haven't experienced any performance issues with them. They're very quiet and perform well under hard braking. Only problem is that these pads put out a *lot* of dust.

Pros: quiet, good performance
Cons: lots of dust

Akebono have been better for my 6 than the OEM. OEM pads are not all the same. They may meet the same minimum spec but not all are top tier. For example the rear brake pads on my 6 OEM were great and were made by TRW. the last set of OEM rear pads were from another manufacturer and are dusty and wear fast. My recent front OEM pads are the same. I'm going back to Akebono pads when the weather is better

Pros: better than OEM
Cons: dusty, wear fast
Vehicle: Mazda 6

Carbotech xp10 + steel rotors. Sooooooo damn good. They’re track only pads and will squeal very loud if they’re cold, I recommend getting them prebedded if you can’t bed them on a track.

Pros: sooooooo damn good
Cons: squeal when cold
Vehicle: Porsche

RockAuto has Powerstop pads and rotors for a good price and they're a good product. Swapped to Powerstop pads (still on stock rotor, they're in great shape still at 30k miles) and it was a huge performance improvement over the Jurid ones

Pros: good product, huge improvement
Mileage: 30000 km

OEM Volkswagen Brake pads

It's the pad compound and v. common for VWs. Often first thing in morning when there is moisture on them and moreso in reverse. You can do new pads and use something like a ceramic compound, it's a cheap fix.

Pros: cheap fix with ceramic
Cons: pad compound issue, common for VWs
Vehicle: Volkswagen

easy 40 minute job to replace brakes on my 14 Mazda 3 took about two hours. It all pops off super easy going great. Go to put them on, well shit they don't fit. Try the other side for some reason thinking I'm just having a stupid moment. Doesn't work either.

Pros: easy to remove
Cons: brakes don't fit
Vehicle: Mazda 3
