When i changed my battery in my Kia eSoul (same car, different brand) the only thing that happened was that the aux bat SOC said 255 for some time. Then car calibrated itself to the new battery and said the right value.
Had a yellow optima that went 10 years and it started to slow a bit. Replaced the yellow with a red 6 years ago and it’s still fine.
Thx everyone, in the end I found a Varta B23 on discount, which is slightly bigger and slightly stronger (45AH) and fits.
Duralast is a decent brand, I’ve always went with the gold, no real reason just that it’s what was in the car before.
I typically use what is shipped with the packaging. Most of my red dots are trijicon and they ship with energizer so I will continue to use it. I feel the companies do their own testing trail and error with battery life and usage at all power levels under all temperatures.
Energizer. Better QC than Duracell imho.
OEM Subaru batteries and not the best. When it's time for replacement go with a 3rd party battery.
I had a battery drain issue with my first car Firestone on Iowa couldn’t solve and we ran through a half dozen appointments with them.
Just bought a new G63, same issue!
Even then the Mazda oem battery is trash. My battery only last me 15k miles, and I bought it new.
