OEM BMW Battery

The battery on my previous F20 lasted over 12 years before I replaced it last winter. Had enough voltage but bad resistance readings, mechanic advised me to change it for the winter.

Pros: over 12 years longevity, enough voltage
Cons: bad resistance readings
Vehicle: BMW

YUASA Battery

Yuasa. Best non lithium battery and I sold a lot of batteries. The battery in my mower for the last 2 years came out of my Valkyrie. The reason I replaced it in the Valkyrie was because it was 10 years old and I felt I might be pushing it even though it never gave me a problem.

Pros: never gave me a problem
Cons: replaced after 10 years
Vehicle: Honda

*\"Yuasa High Performance Maintenance Free AGM Battery with Acid pack\"* Last one lasted 4-years. I could have pushed this, but I like traveling 100's of miles away from home and like the peace of mind.

Pros: lasted 4-years, peace of mind
Vehicle: Suzuki

Duralast AGM. No leaking, minimal to no corrosion, god life, decent power, and most importantly it was readily available.

Pros: no leaking, decent power

BMW i3… loved that little toaster but 80 mile range wasn’t cutting it anymore. I still enjoyed running errands and zipping through parking lots.

Pros: loved the car
Cons: limited range
Vehicle: BMW

My battery died on my ‘15 Outback within a year of my buying the car brand new off the lot. I noticed some issues with the lift gate and the car was having problems starting at times. It was a bad cell in the battery so it needed to be replaced.

Cons: died within a year, bad cell

I had this issue as well, one day the car wouldn’t turn over. Then it would. Then there was no power. Then it would start. Over several days and weeks this would happen. It was explained to me that the Subaru batteries that come from the factory are made to hold just barely enough power to start the car. If that power is diminished in even the slightest degree, like with normal usage in the first 50k miles, then the battery does not have enough charge to do its basic task anymore, rendering it useless. As I understood it, the batteries in the new cars are not up to snuff.

Cons: wouldn't turn over, no power, not up to snuff
Vehicle: Subaru
