I've been using standard "extended life" parts store coolant in my Z3 for three years. No issues.

It is best to use the genuine BMW coolant, but in an emergency Pentosin NF antifreeze is apparently compatible with the OE coolant in your BMW.

I did this a few weeks ago on my '13 Sequoia, but I did not flush it. Just drained the rad and the valves on the block. Replaced with Toyota red and distilled water at 50/50. The fluid I drained was as clear as the fluid I replaced, so I felt flushing was not necessary.

Ditto. I only use G11, made by Pentosin.

I believe Pentosin Pentofrost A3 is equivalent and it's also $19 from Advance Auto. I have both at home because the Pentosin is equivalent to Subaru coolant as well.

Ravenol (HJC) Hybrid Japanese Coolant. Exact same specs as the Mazda fl22, my rx8 has never overheated with it.

I run it in my 2010 Tundra. after much research and not wanting to spend the $$ on overpriced toyota branded coolant I swapped out the system when I hit 100k (Valvoline asian). That was maybe two years ago. 30k miles later no issues.

I'd recommend genuine Honda coolant. Others tend to cause water pump to leak.

Ditto for the Pentosin G12. I also use Ravenol OTC G12+ from blauparts.com

I'm almost positive that VW uses Pentosin at the factory- I think the G12/G13 is the same stuff as the Pentofrost SF/Pentofrost E.
