OEM Volkswagen Engine oil

Part number for the oil: G055512A2 $14 (x2) O-ring: N90362001 $4 (x2) Paid ~$38 total Yeah my dealer is about 40 minutes away so I bought two in case I want to order oil in the future and do this again sometime...or if it leaks for some reason and I have to drain/refill, I just didn't want to drive back.

Pros: bought extra o-rings
Part number: G055512A2

OEM Volkswagen Headlights

Rating 4.5

Guys, I have successfully retrofitted genuine SEL Premium LED headlights to the car. This was the most challenging retrofit I'd ever done, not because of the wiring, but because of the coding and troubleshooting.

Pros: successfully retrofitted
Cons: challenging retrofit

OEM Volkswagen Brake pads

Rating 5.0

We recently made this to our caddy Mk1, all home made with help from friends with some skills, total cost, honeslty I dont have any idea haha: Engine is from a 2008 R32 Drivetrain from a 2004 R32 (6-speed manual, also have The DGS setup) Haldex is manually operated so is not and will not workas on the R32, you can drive front wheel drive or 4wheel drive (pushing a button). ECU and engine harness is from an R32 so it works as it should. Front suspension, hubs, etc were upgraded to acommodate Mk3/Scirocco 16v Discs (my dad did some crazy stuff in there but it brakes awesome)

Pros: brakes awesome
Vehicle: Volkswagen Caddy

The motor was in good shape but I replaced the timing chains anyway. The rails were actually in good condition but nice to have the piece of mind.

Pros: piece of mind

OEM Volkswagen Brake discs

Rating 3.0

Just swapped my fronts again at ~43K. Used VW rotors this time, pads are just fine/have tons of life left. It really comes down to pad deposits from my wife's driving this only around town/short trips and being an early braker.

Pros: pads have tons of life
Cons: pad deposits
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 43000 km

I purchased a 2021 Jetta with approx. 14,xxx miles on it. After a 4 hour drive, I noticed what sounded like an extremely rusty brake rotor sound (metal/metal grinding) as well as the sound of an unbalanced wheel or un-evenly worn tire. A local VW dealership reported that both rear tires were showing major cupping and that the brake rotors were so rusted that they were pitting and would not pass VA state safety inspection.

Pros: none
Cons: rusty brake rotors, cupped tires
Mileage: 14000 km

OEM Volkswagen Oil pan
asusc
  • No leaks:
Rating 1.0

Shop told me it was \"still holding a little bit of oil\" when they got it so they didn't suspect major engine problems. They also replaced the side rocker panel for another $400 (which seemed unneeded). Seems like the only things they actually did as far as the oil pan goes are replace the oil pan and replace the oil pan gasket.

Pros: oil pan replaced
Cons: negligence, didn't add oil
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 82000 km
