OEM Porsche Flywheel
De1taTaco
 • Shift smoothness:
Rating 4.0

With that mileage I would check the status of the flywheel. Especially once they get oil on them from a bad RMS they degrade quickly.

Cons: degrades quickly with oil

OEM Porsche Brake pads

i had this same work done on mine after i brought her home last year. cost about the same (im in a HCOL area). did the air filters myself, saved a few bucks. but everything else: brakes, spark plugs, etc... 08's are a .1, if its yours, might as well add in a borescopes through the plugs for piece of mind!

OEM Porsche Headlights

That’s crazing and is not from driving, is caused by heat and direct sunlight, happened to my 981 on a very hot week I left the car parked unused, one day they were perfect a week later they were exactly like yours. A professional detailer sanded the outer layer and polished it, I then added PPF and they were perfect again.

Pros: perfect again, added PPF
Cons: crazing, caused by heat

OEM Porsche ABS sensor

My Cayenne did go into limp mode once after an abs sensor went bad on a rear wheel. Apart from that it’s been solid. Change the oil every 6k miles with quality synthetic, spark plugs and coils every 30k.

Pros: been solid, well made
Cons: abs sensor went bad
Vehicle: Porsche Cayenne
Mileage: 165000 km

OEM Porsche Windshield

The arguments I used were that the oem glass has a ‘P’ (for Porsche) logo above the glass company’s logo, and that buyers check for that. I also said that I had read that non-oem glass can void the rain sensor warranty.

Pros: Porsche logo, maintains warranty

OEM Porsche Starter motor

 • Cranking:
 • Sounds:
Rating 4.0

I agree with everyone saying starter. My 986 made this exact sound for a week or two before the starter completely died. Replaced starter and all was good.

Pros: all was good
Cons: starter completely died

OEM Porsche Starter motor

It’s the starter and has no major effect whatsoever. Mine has been doing it for a year and my Porsche mechanic says he can replace the starter but he’s never seen them go out because of the sound.

Pros: no major effect

OEM Porsche Dash cam
Gobby8505
 • Image quality:
Rating 1.0

General consensus is that the Porsche dash cam sucks and is a waste of money, you’re better getting a 3rd party one such as thinkware or blackvue, you also do not need to option the dash cam prep if going 3rd party

Cons: sucks, waste of money
