MOTUL Gear oil

Brakes are genuinely impressive for this segment. Only real issue I faced was chain wear — once you start maintaining it, it improves. I lube mine with 2T gear oil, works surprisingly well. Used Motul for most services, but the last one was with Prolube and the bike feels a bit rougher since then.

Pros: impressive brakes
Cons: chain wear, rougher with Prolube
Mileage: 12000 km

When I was researching MTF I found several experience that said the older Toyota transmissions get a little crunchy on the RedLine and I saw lots of good reports for Motul 300 75W-90 so I used that in mine earlier this year. It doesn't have issues but the shifting is ever so slightly smoother.

Pros: shifting is slightly smoother
Cons: crunchy on the RedLine
Vehicle: Toyota

MOTUL Gear oil

Fresh gear oil can help grinding synchros. It sounds weird, but it's true. 75w90 GL5 is the oil you need. Motul gear 300 is the most recommended gear oil brand for subarus, but any GL5 rated 75w90 gear oil will probably help a lot.

Pros: helps grinding synchros, highly recommended

Why I am writing a review about this gear oil, because since I owned this car shifting into second gear on cold morning has been a little bit hard. And last week when I went to my mechanic for an oil change as usual he used full synt Motul oil 5w40 and he suggest me to use motylgear 75w90 gear oil. REVIEW... Before: when it's below 10C outside or on the morning for the first 5 or 10 minutes it's hard to shift in second gear. Most of the time I try to rev match or shift in third skipping second gear. Even after 10 minutes sometime I get a nice grind in second gear. Now: Yesterday it was about 2C in the morning and the improvement is about 60% better and only after 2 minutes it was shifting like butter. Everything seems to be a lot more smoother and safer. I don't feel like I am going to break something when I shift in second gear, to be honest I am very surprised and happy.

Pros: shifting like butter, more smoother
Cons: hard to shift, nice grind
