i DIY or pay a subaru specialty shop for a change, we both use motul, genuine filter, crush ring, just they do oil samples for me cause i dont feel like that hassle

Not a Tiguan thing, but I switched from Castrol to Motul oil and stopped the oil consumption I was having.

I recently switched to fully synthetic motul 7100 10w50 too, which did help a little, but didn't solve the issue.

Don\u2019t buy the xcess version. Causes weird engine deposits. Stick with xclean.
