As been the pattern with the 2.5 engine, if, you install and intake and get a CEL recheck all connections making sure the 2 smaller hoses are tightly fastened and without kinks. Make sure that the MAF is properly seated in its housing.
I personally haven't had any trouble with my K&N's
on my turbo it revs a little faster.
I dropped one in and got better gas mileage, noticable power increase (slight), and a badass sound.
I have an OE replacement filter in my GTi. Can I tell a difference? Not much in the GTi
I've used it in a few of my cars, and have noticed a very slight (~1-2mpg) increase in mileage. Power, eh, if there's any I can't feel it...
last night everything was all normal, K&N filter in the stock airbox with one side cut out. sounded pretty nice. ive had this setup for a little over 6 Months .. Today i start my car and head off to work as normal. and i notice its being very very quiet (almost stock sounding)
I had installed a K&N air filter and noticed a good increase in power and fuel economy.
In my passator, I had a KnN right on the maf, it felt awesome but when the engine gets hot, the hood thermo liner didn't let any heat escape, to the car felt like an 8v
