My2021 Rio uses the exact same coolent I have never had an issue yes when it's cold it will drop down to the cold level ( as it's supposed to) in the winter it does drop right down to near the minimum mark however according to my mechanic, that's completely normal.

Pros: completely normal, no issue

OEM KIA Steering rack

I know it’s not the model you are asking but I had a Kia Picanto and a Sportage before. Parts are damn difficult to find and it’s expensive. Steering rack seems to be a common issue for old Kia so be careful with that. Kia is a nice car to drive imo, way better than Perodua and the same generations of Toyota, just that the cost of maintaining it is not cheap since it’s also a pretty old car.

Edit: forgot to mention ECU tends to wear out for older cars so do check on this. I replaced my ECU for about 3-4k (not sure OEM or Ori) and steering rack (2k for new/OEM) even this took me months to source.

Pros: nice car to drive
Cons: parts difficult to find
Vehicle: Kia Picanto

OEM KIA Battery

the cars are decent, the customer service at the dealers, hit or miss.

the Vancouver (Coquitlam) dealership i bought my Kia from knew jack squat about my car - I basically just needed them to sell me a car, that I knew more about at the time of sale than they did.

went to a different one, and got a much better experience, they were willing to sit down and talk to you about what the problems were, what options were, etc. So in short, the early EVs (like the one I drive) were kinda iffy depending on your experience, could be great could be terrible, but the classic ioniq is one I would hands down trade in for. The extra cobalt inside the cells means the degradation happens less, it doesn't overheat as quickly, charges reasonably fast, and more efficient than tesla :p

Pros: charges reasonably fast, more efficient
Cons: customer service hit or miss

OEM KIA Windshield

  • Chips/cracks:
Rating 1.5

We’ve had a 2025 Kia Carnival EX for a little more than 4 months and less than 4,000 miles. Twice in the past month we’ve had a rock from the highway flip up and crack the windshield. We hadn’t even had a chance to schedule the first small repair when this second (very large) crack happened.

Cons: cracks easily, poor durability
Vehicle: Kia Carnival
Mileage: 6437 km

  • Chips/cracks:
Rating 1.0

We had an issue like this with our 2020 Kia Telluride, where you could tell how cheap and thin the new Windshield was. One little chip and it was already running through out the whole Windshield; it was a really soft hit too.

Cons: cheap, thin, easily cracked
Vehicle: Kia

Multiple times yesterday the vehicle was sputtering while trying to start, all electronics in the vehicle were on, but the engine was between .3K - .5K Rpm\u2019s trying to start for at least 5 seconds. Then there was an intermittent phase where it went to around .7K but wasn\u2019t fully on, and once it turned on it went to around 1.2K. This progressively became more frequent over the course of a few months, with it first happening in a one off scenario a few months ago.

Pros: electronics were on
Cons: sputtering while trying to start
Vehicle: Kia
