Years ago when I bought my truck used the check engine light came on about a week after I bought it I took it to my local dealer and they told me it was a bad fuel pump I purchased an aftermarket warranty for my vehicle, but they only wanted to pay for an aftermarket one. The manger explicitly told me you better put in a factory one or you’ll eventually be miserable down the road i’m glad I listened to him and paid for the difference because it’s still good all these years later. Towards the end of its run in our family, a gentleman who had worked in R&D for Ford had read a service bulletin about certain GM full-sized cars having a faulty fuel pump. He was a friend through church. He’d heard about our Olds and told my mom about the issue. I believe he paid for the repair in hopes it would fix our car. Instantly, all of its problems went away! It ran *perfectly.*
fuel pumps... Just seem to be shitty
