I only upgraded the rears to Brembo cross drilled rotors with PBR deluxe pads. It eliminated the rear dust tremendously. Braking improved too.
Brembo rotors will resist cracking because the holes are cast into the rotor instead of drilled after the rotor has been cast.
The Brembo Sport kits are an introductory performance solution combined with an appealing aesthetic application. The Sport level is comprised of a 1-piece drilled or slotted and solid or vented rotors, according to your original manufacturers requirements. High carbon cast iron metallurgy insures top performance, noise reduction and improved comfort due to higher dampening coefficients. Cross-Drilled or Slotted Rotors: Clears gasses, cleans pads for better \"bite\". Attractive, Anti-Corrosive Finish: For a bold, aggressive appearance.
The front rotors were in a box from Zimmerman and rear were from Brembo. Just about from the start the brakes slightly squealed. The noise gradually increased that nearly each time the brakes were stepped on they squealed. After about 2K miles the noise got to the point of being excessive. They squeal in the morning when cool when slowing from 20MPH or warm and hot when slowing from 45+MPH. The only way to make them silent is to slam on them hard, but the next time they will squeal as well. In addition to the noise, the rotors started developing rust on the hub sections.
I got new Brembo front rotors (not drilled), and then put in new pads... THe new rotors and pads in the front mad a HUGE difference....
I would recommend buying a set of Brembo slotted A8 rotors or my favorote Ate Powerdiscs.
I already have slotted and x-drilled brembo's with pagid blue box all around. I'm in need of replacement since the fronts are warped.
G60 front with BRAND NEW: Brembo rotors/pads/calipers/stainless lines/nuts bolts/splash shields/22 MC/hardlines etc. Stock rear discs with BRAND NEW: rotors/pads/calipers/stainless lines/nuts bolts/splash shields/handbrake cables etc.
I'm running the Audi TT setup with a 16 inch wheel. 312mm Brembo rotors. I think that rotor size is the largest you can fit with a 16 inch rim.
