Parts authority has the aisin timing belt kit. They're a well known parts outfit and the parts are legitimate.

It's OEM, and the kit I got includes the belt, water pump, idler pulleys and the hydraulic tensioner. That's the only kit other than the OEM from Toyota stuff I'd use.

Pros: legitimate parts, OEM quality

I just ordered an Aisin kit from rock auto since aisin makes the oem kits for toyotas. To my pleasant surprise it had a hand full of oem toyota parts in the box but the pump was aisin branded and the timing belt was mistuboshi.

I wouldn’t see an issue with going with the aisin kit I did but being that it’s such an invasive job it’s one of those things that you really only want to do once and be done with it because of the amount of work to get to the water pump and belt.

Pros: OEM quality, good components
Vehicle: Honda Civic

Glad you have the Aisin timing belt kit in there, it’s literally OEM parts without “toyota” stamped on them. The gates stuff will be ok but may not last as long as OEM. I would probably do OEM for my GX but those parts are easy to replace, and Gates seems to make decent quality parts. I would recommend replacing the crank seal, definitely do OEM for that.

Pros: OEM quality, decent quality
Cons: may not last as long as OEM
Vehicle: Lexus GX

Use an Aisin TKH-002 kit purchased from an auto parts seller (Rockauto, CarID, parts store) not any sellers on Amazon or Ebay etc. The Aisin kit have Aisin water pump and tensioner, Mitsuboshi belt, and good brand idlers etc.

Pros: Aisin water pump, Mitsuboshi belt
Part number: TKH002

I initially bought an AISIN kit but they decided to return it for the factory Honda pieces. It was about $200 but I didn't want to lose sleep over it.

I installed it myself and I think my total dollar cost was around $550 or so including replacing the water pump, any torqued fasteners, and the Honda coolant.

I can't think of a reason not to use AISIN with the price being similar to the others. It was when I purchased 6 months ago and I'm greatly pleased with it.

Pros: greatly pleased

I'm also a fan of the Aisin TKT021 kit. Aisin is the OEM manufacturer of the water pump, and Mitsuboshi is the OEM manufacturer of the actual belt (the belt that comes with the TKT021 kit is a Mitsuboshi).

Pros: fan of kit, OEM quality
Vehicle: Toyota Sequoia
Part number: TKT021

AISIN Timing belt kit

I used AISIN TKT021 kit and would use that again. I think there might be a few rollers the kits don't include which might be worth replacing every couple of timing belts.

Pros: would use again
Cons: missing rollers
Vehicle: Toyota Sequoia
Part number: TKT021
