All I know is the Hakkapeliitta R2s on my Volvo grip harder than the Michelin all seasons that were on it when I bought the thing in ALL conditions, even in the dry. They're significantly less responsive, but I mean they're winter tires, with those massive gaps between the tread blocks they're gonna feel a bit squidgy. IDGAF what the CEOs are doing, it's still a damn good tire. I got through every bit of snow I attempted that wasn't higher than my actual ground clearance, they're fucking great.

Love my '07 v8. She is a heavy beast though. I've only replaced ball joints so far, but the front end still makes some noise and I'm sure there's more suspension work in our future. I bought it with 90k and have 130k now.

I have General Grabber AT2 on my XC70 ...I also recommend going with 16s, more sidewall means less likely to bend a wheel.

I ran them on my 850 volvo for a while. Seemed to wear well and I had no issues.

Rotors: Fremax is a Brazilian company that makes awesome rotors. We install them on lots of Volvos. They are less prone to warping the OEM and have been trouble free.

Akebono makes great brake pads. I've really loved the quality of Fremax brake rotors. I put them on customers' Volvo's if they're available. Their price point is great and the quality exceeds Brembo, Ate, Zimmerman, and Textar in my experience.

My old fuel pressure regulator spat out stuff like that from the vacuum port when I ran water into it. Pretty sure the varnish was the only thing holding the diaphragm together.

Initially I thought it was the OE Pirelli. I replaced them with Michelins and had the same terrible road noise and handling.

2005 Volvo S40 T5 with the 6 speed...the starter would spin without catching 50% of the time.
