Continental Tires
KCJeep
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 4.0

The OEM Conti's get dogged pretty good on here, and they are not good if you want to tear around. They do cruise really nicely though, and I find them excellent in inclement weather. I am clearly going to get at least 60k out of mine minimum, so I'm considering them as replacements as well.

Pros: nice cruising, excellent in inclement weather, good lifespan
Cons: not good for aggressive driving
Mileage: 96560 km

YOKOHAMA Tires
Mothman1893
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 4.0

Only after 3 months replaced with Yokohama Advan Sport A/S.

Current review on them is:

Dry pavement: A+ (I can take turns like a race driver on bare pavement and still feel safe)

Wet Pavement: B (Only problem I’ve had starting aggressively is on wet pavement with road markings on them, seems good on corners and doesn’t hydroplane on really wet pavement, but loses traction with hard braking on very wet pavement)

Roughish Roads: A- (my car has low clearance and low profile tires but got by easily on FS roads with medium rocks and being careful. It gets the minus because after driving 75 miles on semi rough FS roads and getting back to pavement, I pulled to the side of the highway and had a metal chunk lodge into the sidewall ruining the tire)

Pros: safe on dry pavement
Cons: metal chunk in sidewall

BFGoodrich Tires

I got these BFG Sport Comp 2 summer tires 235/45R17, factory equivalent size for 17" wheels. They are a tad beefy for a summer set but the roads in PA are atrocious and, frankly, I don’t like the really low profile or stretched look. Even at this size, just slightly tall for a performance setup, these tires absolutely kill it for their price.

Pros: fantastic tire for price
Cons: don't talk to you much

Cooper Tires
weebl
  • Grip:
Rating 5.0

With winter weather has been here for a week now, and they have been great, millions of times better than the junk X-Ice I had on the Passat, and comparable to any other good winter tire I've used in the past.

Pros: they have been great
Cons: better than X-Ice

Kumho Tires

I've had cheap Kumho ECSTA AST's. That you get what you paid for, when money is tight. Their ECSTA Platinum LX was a much better tire, and actually didn't have wear issues which the PQ46 chassis is known for (feathering). Decent grip.

Pros: decent grip, no wear issues
Cons: cheap, need to be careful

Giti Tires

Reason I Found this out is one of the NEW giti tires busted a side wall and had to go buy a new tire already after only 4500 miles and when we left the tire shop the TPMS came on so we took it back to check the tire pressure and he said oh you just have to reset it

Cons: tire busted a side wall
Mileage: 4500 km

Giti Tires
2wheelgnr
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 1.0

I also have now learned that GITI does have an y factory warrantly with their tires..they dont stand behind them. Now I now its not THEIR fault or fault of dealer but my wifes 2018 passat new to use 4500 miles ago had a belt let go in a brand new less that 4500 miles and has a bulge dealer say giti has no warrantly of any kind so its all out dime. I will definately change these out when they wear out.

Cons: no factory warranty, belt let go
Mileage: 4500 km
