Pirelli Tires

Rating 5.0

Pirellis are the best tires for my 98 camry. Through the years, I've bought Goodyear, Bridgestone, and Michelin tires for my black beauty. Pirellis are by far the quietest and nicest riding tires I've ever had on the car.

Pros: quietest, nicest riding

Bilstein Shock absorbers

Rating 5.0

I went the 5160/6112 route and love them. Coming from stock suspension for the first 50k it was amazing offroad but really helped with the on-road nosedive and with upgrade springs in the rear helped tremendously with the sag from my rtt trailer.

Pros: amazing offroad, helped nosedive
Mileage: 50000 km

Castrol Engine oil

My 25 year old Camry requires 5W-30 and I use Castrol Edge. I also put 1 litre of Castrol GTX 15W-40 oil into the mix - it's supposed to have anti sludge properties and also lowers the overall cost.

Pros: anti sludge properties
Cons: lowers overall cost

Castrol Engine oil

From my experience with a Toyota echo; does not matter the brand, only the type. My echo was a 10w40 semi synthetic. once she started consuming a little more oil, I was then just filling her up with any 10w40 semi synthetic I could afford. There was no difference of her running on Castrol vrs the mixed bag of what it ended up with, as I always put Castrol as my oil of choice for a complete change.

Pros: no difference in running
Vehicle: Toyota Echo

Cooper Tires

I would consider Cooper a mid range tire. They’re not cheap but they’re not premium. I have a 2007 Tacoma and it’s got 300,000 miles on it so I’ve ran many sets of tires. Just recently put the Cooper Discover A3 on my truck and they are great in the snow.

Pros: great in snow
Cons: not premium
Vehicle: Toyota
Mileage: 300000 km

OEM Toyota Head gasket

According to Toyota themselves It’s caused by inadequate caulking on the head gasket itself. There is a revised part number head gasket that has better longevity but in order to solve the problem entirely the engine would have to be redesigned.

Pros: revised part, better longevity
Cons: inadequate caulking
Vehicle: Toyota Prius

Falken Tires

Rating 1.0

2nd Gen not 5th but I replaced the ancient tires on my 4runner with wildpeaks and had them on for a few years. Hated them. Hated driving curves in the rain on pavement. Roundabouts would lose traction even in summer and as you know, these are NOT cars with a fast takeoff. They were quiet, I'll give them that.

Pros: quiet
Cons: hated driving curves, lose traction
