Pirelli Tires

Rating 5.0

Adding my experience here too: I miserably struggled with those CRAPPY Turanzas on my Turbo 3 for almost 4 years, and I finally had them swapped out for Pirelli AS+3's. As crappy as Turanzas were throughout this time (leading to multiple replacements), I'm only now realizing in comparison how utterly awful they really are!

Right off the bat, steering is so much more nimble and smooth, I probably put half as much effort into steering now. Traction is worlds better, and the car runs a lot gentler, too. Don't get me wrong, 3T is rough by nature, but now it's gliding over the same bumps and humps compared to the death shocks from Turanzas (which by the way, got exponentially worse over time). There's a lot less understeering with Pirelli's now, and interestingly, MPG shows signs of improvement as well. So, count me in love!

Pros: steering nimble and smooth
Cons: crappy Turanzas
Vehicle: Mazda 3

NOCO Jump starter
RaymondLastNam
  • Starting reliability:
Rating 5.0

I have a Noco Boost X GBX45. The amperage on that is 1250 A, as long as you have higher than the CCA rating of the battery, you should be good.

Pros: higher than CCA rating

NOCO Jump starter

  • Starting reliability:
  • Ease of use:
Rating 5.0

I have a noco boost gb40, had oem battery that was completely dead, no lights had to use key to unlock door. Hooked it the jumper, wait about 10 seconds as battery was really drained, and CX started right up.

Pros: CX started right up

Bosch Wiper blades

Bosch Clear Advantage blades are the sweet spot for price/longevity. I’ve used Ikons and Valeos. The CAs last longer than either for me, despite being cheaper. Swear by them.

Pros: good price, long lasting

MICHELIN Tires

There are several good winter tires. Blizzacks, Nokian, Michelin, Continental are great. IMO I avoid studded winter tires.

Pros: several good winter tires
Cons: avoid studded winter tires

Exedy Clutch kit

Buy oem. Go on any rotary vender (atkins, mazdatrix) and order oem exedy #1007 I think . I tried saving money ordered from ebay but pilot and release/ throwout bearing was wrong and cost me more in long run. Exedy stage 1 has throwout bearing issues apparently. If you want a slight upgrade, buy the oem exedy s2 rx8 clutch kit.

Pros: OEM reliable
Cons: wrong bearings, throwout bearing issues
Vehicle: Mazda
Part number: 1007

Falken Tires
Ok-Seaweed7617
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 2.0

I had Falkens as replacement tires on my 626. They lasted a disappointingly short while. Next tire shop said they’re infamous for being soft and wearing quickly.

Cons: wearing quickly, soft
Vehicle: Mazda 626

OEM Mazda Wiper blades
Correct_Sometimes
  • Wipe quality:
  • Streaks/chatter:
Rating 1.0

I've never owned a vehicle that didn't eventually come across a rain storm that required a pull over because the wipers cant keep up at some point you do just have to pull over and wait it out. Had one so bad in my Cx30 where visibility was so low it disabled all safety sensors and spit up a message on the dash to be careful since they were inactive.

Cons: wipers can't keep up, low visibility
