In July 2018, at ~124,000 miles, I put new PowerStop Geomet coated front rotors and new front PowerStop ceramic pads and rotors on a 2011 Honda Odyessy, for an owner who was about to move to into the rust belt (they were worried about rust so wanted coated rotors). OE rotors were warped and had very bad vibration at all speeds when braking. As it happens, the owner moved back to my area in 2023 and the car came back for routine service at ~178,000 miles. Pads about ~40% through, coated rotors showing no signs of rust, and despite the same person (his wife) driving the car with the same behaviors that apparently warped the OE rotors in the ~50k miles from when they first bought the car, 50k miles later and no signs of uneven rotor wear or warping. The PowerStop Evolution ceramic products have been great from my experience. The important thing with new pads and rotors is to follow the bed in procedure once they are installed.
Honda Odyssey parts reviews
I got Yokohama Avids at 102k, now the van is at 130k and they still look brand new so I highly recommend Yokohamas.
My sister ran her Honda Odyssey 3.5 to 245k miles. Never had a belt.
I had a Honda Odyssey do this for years. Finally took to Battery Plus. They checked my battery at the time (which was not having issues…yet) which they said was good. On a lark i asked if their device could tell if the alternator was okay. He said yes, did something on the meter, and then showed me on the screen the alternator showed “errors”. I had the alternator replaced and the dead batteries stopped happening.
I put Michelin Defender 2 tires on my 2019 Ody and so far they are excellent. They are very quiet and soft-riding. They have an 80k mile treadwear warranty.
Brand is Pilkington (OEM) without the Honda logo. Mine doesn't have any sensors on the windshield (LDW).
make sure they use the Aisin kit or OEM parts. Nothing else goes.
I would suggest Denso for the Honda. With a high amp usage like an Odyssey, anything, but Denso will cause the battery light to be on intermittently.
I would get a better alternator. Denso (reman or new is fine) seems to be the only one that can take the high electrical demand of the Odyssey.
Although our shop use(s) BG products, the latest recall on 2005-2007 Odyssey master cylinders is due to the usage of BG DOT4 brake fluid (10-069) deteriorating the master cylinder main seal.
