Brembo Brake pads

  • Braking:
  • Dust:
Rating 4.0

I just put some Brembro low met pads on out SQ5. They are more progressive bite, but I like them better than the Hawk HPS 5.0 on my S4. When you get on them they stop very well. Not sure on dust yet.

Pros: good stopping power, progressive bite
Cons: dust unsure

MICHELIN Tires

I recently had CC2 tires on Audi Q5 2021. Its huge upgrade compared to OEM Kumho tires. But....I have lost 10% mileage :(( Just came here to tell considering this point whoever is on fence.

Pros: huge upgrade
Cons: lost 10% mileage

OEM Audi Antifreeze

13’ Q5 3.0T here. LONG driveway (1.3 miles of dirt) is my warm up. After coolant temp is up to normal I just drive it normal. Never get crazy with a COLD motor/trans, but “warmup” is a way less important thing than it was ages ago.

Pros: warmup less important now

Pirelli Tires

I was looking for the same size but Kijiji'ed a 1-year old set of Pirelli Winter Carvings, on steelies, for 340. Checked the wheels for rust/cracks, treads, consistent pressure across tires.

Pros: consistent pressure across tires

Vredestein Quatrac Pro I had Scoprions on my previous 2018 Audi Q5 and they were not as nice as Cinturato P7 or Vredesteins. I am looking for quiet and smooth ride and these two are my top choices.

Pros: quiet and smooth ride
Cons: not as nice as

OEM Audi Brake pads

Since starting my drive from NY to NJ daily, ALL my previous cars, Audi Q5 and Toyota Sienna, will start "brake and shake" or was it "shake and brake".. at about a year in at around 10k-15k miles. I am guilty of heavy braking so with it comes excess wear.

Cons: excess wear
Vehicle: Audi Q5
Mileage: 15000 km

OEM Audi Intake manifold
CoreyB
  • Idle quality:
Rating 1.5

Carbon build up is definitely still an issue on diesel engines. In the case of the 3.0tdi being discussed here replacing the intake manifold is essentially the fix depending on how severe it is and that will run about 1k between parts and labor. Here's just the intake snout and swirl flaps from one with moderate carbon build up. These can obviously both be cleaned, but the manifold is extremely difficult to get fully clean and replacing it is for sure the easier method.

Cons: carbon build up issue, difficult to clean
