Windshield OEM Toyota or OEM FORD

OEM FORD Windshield

They specifically asked if I wanted OEM glass with the Ford logo or if aftermarket was okay. Iirc the price was the same either way so of course I chose the OEM one, it was actually a pretty good experience.

Pros: OEM glass option, good experience

OEM Toyota Windshield

I replaced a windshield in my 2023 Camry this year and it was $800. The Toyota dealerships near me do not replace windshields and told me to go with a local windshield replacement business. The business brought my car to the Toyota dealership after installing the new windshield to have everything calibrated.

Pros: everything calibrated
Vehicle: Toyota Camry

My 2023 got a cracked windshield within 3 weeks of owning it. The weird thing is that there were no chips or anything. I just started my truck on a cold -40C morning and watched it slowly crack right in front of my eyes.

Cons: cracked quickly, no impact
Vehicle: Toyota Tundra

I’ve had my 2024 tundra for just under a year now. Within that year I have had 3 cracks in my windshield. And one replacement after the first 2 cracks.

Cons: multiple cracks, poor quality
Vehicle: Toyota Tundra

Ford OEM glass is thin and breaks easy. The sound proof glass or whatever they make. It’s thinner layer so it’s more brittle. More sound material less glass material. I put two OEM in my truck before I finally had enough and just went aftermarket.

Cons: thin, breaks easy, brittle

Brand new 24 hybrid corolla cross. Spilt bottom passenger side. They saud the pen hooks, so it's a chip. Less than 2k kms. I've not heard anything hit the windshield. Just driving along and a big spilt forms in the windshield.

Pros: big spilt forms
Cons: spilt bottom passenger side
Mileage: 2000 km

I’ve already had to replace the windshield twice since then. The first had a small chip on the edge of the glass and it spread before we even got home. The second happened from a chip that was about 3” above the edge below the windshield wiper. The latter we had filled as safelight, and it spread about a week later.

Cons: chips spread easily, frequent replacements

Replaced it with OEM ford windshield and was done in a few hours. Got a chip on the way to snow and by the first night it started cracking across middle of vision. Windshield was exact OEM match. Even had the 75 yr sticker lol.

Pros: exact OEM match, 75 yr sticker
Cons: started cracking quickly
Vehicle: Ford
