Water pump Pierburg or OEM Volkswagen

Water pump you will want to raise the engine to gain access to the water pump. I suggest you use a metal impeller replacement and not a plastic one like the factory original.

we always used Pierburg assemblies with Mahle gaskets/o-rings if needed.

The BMW original from pierburg last way longer than 60,000 miles, more like 90,000 miles. Plus, as time went on they made them better than before. Getter a new one today will last longer than the original one.

We routinely get cars with 120,000 miles on their first water pump too.

My car had a Pierburg on it for over 100k miles and 12 years. It still worked great before I replaced it out of caution.

I could smell coolant when my car was 6 months old. I was losing about 8 ounces a year. VW agreed to fix the water pump under warranty but I decided to wait. Five years later it hasn't gotten any worse.

2019 atlas (built 11/18) it had the water pump dine around 60k, nothing else engine wise, just rolled 95k.

My GTI’s water pump shat itself around 60k kilometres too :( going strong since but it’s a very common fault unfortunately

Fuckt this shit why can’t VW the fix the root cause of the problem which is the goddamn shitty plastic waterpump?

Our 2017 Polo, 85km, had a water pump replaced by dealer a couple of years ago.

$1600. Had a heart attack.

I would get a vdo/continental water pump. I’ve bought the all aluminum water pump from pierburg and it died in about 800 miles.
