Water pump OEM Audi or Hepu
Got my water pump, PCV, and thermostat replaced a few months ago. Did it myself. If you're semi-handy I'd definitely recommend doing it yourself. My wallet was definitely happy I did haha
GMB or Hepu pumps are generally good for 100k or more.\n\nThat leak is due to the donut like seal between the pump and the head.
When I was shopping around for cooling system replacement parts, I wasn't sure if GRAF or HEPU made a better metal-impellar water pump. I ended up purchasing both the GRAF and HEPU, and found the HEPU to have a better fit and finish compared to the GRAF.
My next car I got a Hepu pump, which FCP lists as an OEM supplier. The impeller is plastic (or composite, I don't remember), but overall the part is so much nicer.
I owned a 2009 4.2L V8 S5, had to get a new water pump & housing. euro specialty shop did it for me for ~$700.
Now, I had to get the motor mounts and water pump replaced. Pump was leaking a bit, not taking chances with that.
If the hepu water pump I put on my 3.0T is anything to go by, I don't know that I would recommend them for chains.
I put a Hepu water pump in about 20k miles ago.
I have the same exact issue on my 2021 Q8 coolant leaking in vaccum system they want over $8k for repairs just hit 51k miles
2015 Audi S3 with 93k miles. One year of ownership (about 11k miles in one year) cost me about $5.4k in repairs out of pocket; water pump replacement, coolant issues, leaking oil.
