I've been running the aluminum GMB pump (1301280AL on Rockauto) on the 455 in my '72 Bonneville for about 5 years now with no problems.

Pros: no problems, 5 years reliable

I have 20-25k miles on a GMB pump now and it hasn't leaked a drop. We'll see how long it goes, but so far I'm happy with it.

Pros: no leaks, reliable performance

I also used a kit from FCP Euro about 8 years ago and it included a HEPU water pump that worked fine for 7 years until I dismantled that car.

Pros: worked fine for years

my hepu has been in for 9 years with zero issues

I checked the old water pump and took it out by removing the front plate of the engine... The old water pump moves fine but it does make a squeaking noise and is quite old however it does move.

Cons: squeaking noise, quite old

I am dealing with a similar issue right now on my CJAA which I changed the timing belt in April this year. Leaking from same spot. Hepu waterpump.

a Hepu which went seven years/60,000 miles before it started leaking. I think the additional mass of the metal impeller put more stress on the bearing and seal.

Cons: started leaking, shorter lifespan

Am pățit la fel dar cu o pompa Hepu, a mea a avut un sunet înainte să crape și la 120km/h a cedat axul, similar cum a fost a ta.
