I bought Aisin brand instead of Nissan OEM parts, hopefully they're as good or better.
I have a 2011 it has 125K miles stage 2 tuned still running the original water pump....
OEM ones with version letters later than, IIRC, M at the end of the number and certainly all the later double letter ones have no issues.
That\u2019s what I have in mine and I\u2019ve had zero issue with the water pump.
2019 atlas (built 11/18) it had the water pump dine around 60k, nothing else engine wise, just rolled 95k.
There was only a slight oil residue on top of old water pump and none inside or near the pumps gaskets. No cracks in the plastic housing were found anywhere on the old pump.
It’s a Vw water pump. It would have failed shortly after install anyway
Like others have suggested, either get an OEM or Aisin water pump or be prepared to make this an annual event.
Had a 2016 GTI and went through two water pumps before the car hit 90k miles. Both covered under the extended warranty VW has on them. They’re a known failure part at this point.
My mk7 water pump went out at 76k and will probably need to be done soon I’m at 135k now. I live in the heat of arizona too. It really gets tested here.
