I went 2” larger overall diameter tire (factory 27” to 29”) and went from a regular oem tire to walmart (west lake ) ATs. And I only saw a very small change in average mpg, aprox 32.1 down to 29.8mpg.
Mag 5 years na westlake na gulong ko. Wala naman naging issue.
Okay naman ang Westlake sa experience ko. Mapa city driving or long drive. This is perfect for my budget and usage. Di naman ako daily drive so I opted to buy Westlake tires para makatipid na din.
The only weird na nanotice ko is parang ang ingay na gulong pagdinadaan sa baha.
2021 LR Y, got 68k miles on original tires. replaced 2 months ago. maybe its how or where you drive?
July of 2020 built LR Y with 34k miles and its been great. Definitely by far the best car I've owned. My 1st year I only drove it 7k miles, but then I bought a house 35 miles from my work and ended up putting on 27k miles in the last year.
My 1 and only complaint is it chews through tires, I replaced the factory set at around 20k miles, and 5k of those miles were on snow tires and they were rotated religiously. I've adjusted my driving habits a little (I have a heavy right foot, lol) and I think I might get 30k miles out of my current set.
Needing 4 new tires in my 2014 Honda Civic. Got quoted 400 mounted and balanced for a set of west lake tires.
judging from the conversation here, I think I'll go for Westlake ????
Ah, west lakes, balance like shit like Rovelos. They’re a low cost low tier tire that dealers install to keep costs cheap overall.
I knew I fucked up immediately after get 2 Westlake front tires for my Honda Civic because of how cheap it is. As soon as these fuckers are worn out, it’s quality from now on.
Westlake tires are becoming a "known" brand name. It still doesn't change the fact they are a low end Chinese tire. That said, they will wear out fast as with all other Chinese tires the tread compound is very soft (low treadware rating). They don't hug corners well, there not fantastic at shuttling water, they are horrible in adverse terrain/weather, & they can be difficult to balance.
