Tires Pirelli or WANLI

Pirelli Tires

I eventually got a set of Pirelli tires and upsized to 205-50/16s. Earlier this year I ran over a nail but the tire couldn't be patched because the puncture was too close to the tire edge. When I went to get another I was told that Pirelli tires were backordered because of the pandemic. So I opted for two new Falken tires at the same size because I want the tread to match on the rear axle.

Cons: tire puncture close to edge

Best tire I've ran so far is pirelli night dragons super sticky tire in wet and dry. About same as stockers for lifespan have 15k on my night dragons installed on a road glide and almost due. Actually getting more mileage than the factory Dunlop's they got replaced at 3/32" at 14k

Pros: super sticky, wet and dry
Cons: lifespan same as stock
Mileage: 15000 km

Pirelli Tires

I got Pirelli Scorpion Winters for my 22. In past on other vehicles have had tons of success with Blizzaks and on cars where performance was less a concern even Generals. Older S4 (‘13) ran Michelin X-ice. Good luck!

Pros: tons of success
Vehicle: Audi SQ5

I used VCDS to recalibrate the speedo after swapping tires from Dunlop SP Sport 225/40R18 to Pirelli Pzero 235/40R18 rubber. Best I could achieve was with Distance Impulse Number 7 (stock was 6). Couldn't select a higher number, VCDS reported 8 as out of range and that was the highest option available. The difference over an extended period of testing was only about 0.5 MPH closer to what two GPS units were reporting. Meh.

Pros: recalibrated speedo with VCDS
Cons: only 0.5 MPH closer

Rating 2.0

Not sure about the Vredesteins, but I will say that I hate Pirellis. No issues with wear or performance, but they are unbelievably noisy after about 20k miles. I probably could have gotten another 10k out of them, but replaced them due to the noise.

Pros: good wear, good performance
Cons: unbelievably noisy
Mileage: 20000 km
