Tires Pirelli or Sailun

Pirelli Tires

Leased 2024 PHEV top of the line for about $55k now with 30k miles…only issue was the Falken tires are shit and you’ll be replacing them early especially with a heavy battery in your vehicle. I paid $1,800 for Pirelli tires to replace them and they are amazing!

Pros: amazing Pirelli tires
Cons: Falken tires are shit
Vehicle: Mazda
Mileage: 30000 km

I’m at 42,000 miles on two of my factory Pirellis with no issues (2024 Santa Fe Hybrid Calligraphy from May 2024). The other two are about 20-ish,000 miles.

Pros: good durability, no issues
Mileage: 67592 km

I mounted mine last November and have put about 40,000km on them and have nothing but great things to say. I skied in quebec pretty often and it was even able to tackle about half a foot of fresh snow like nothing.

Pros: great things to say, tackles fresh snow well
Mileage: 40000 km

Awesome in the slushy winter stuff we see in the Midwest. Way, WAY better than stocks in every conceivable respect- they're even more comfortable and quieter

Pros: awesome in slushy winter, more comfortable, quieter

I just mounted these on my wife’s Alltrack… not the most “performance” forward but quiet, safe, and plenty of grip..

Pros: quiet, safe, plenty of grip
Cons: not most performance forward

Sailun Tires

I put a set of 21" ERange on my Model Y over the summer just to try them out, almost as a joke. They are ever so slightly louder than the stock Michelins. But they are more efficient, just barely. There's a droning resonance around 58-62mph as well.

Pros: more efficient, cheap wholesale
Cons: slightly louder, droning resonance

If you drive conservatively, they might last. If you drive a performance/sports car and you like to drive like you have a pulse, then they won’t last very long, you’ll want more than they can provide, and they love to squeal like a pig.

Cons: love to squeal

Just got the Michelins put on this morning. I got 32,000 on the Pirelli’s and could have gotten a few more had I been better at rotating, no complaints on wear but they suuuuuuck in snow.

Pros: no complaints on wear
Cons: suck in snow
Mileage: 51499 km

For example, my mercedes came with the worst runftlat tires from Pirelli. Those run flats felt like shit after 10k miles. Unusable and felt dangerous at 14k. Replaced at 15k when costco had proper non runflat tires from Michelin.

Cons: felt like shit, felt dangerous
Vehicle: Mercedes
Mileage: 10000 km
