AT3w in stock size on a 17 GX here. Slightly more noisy than the factory rubber but unless you rode in it before and after the tire change, you wouldn’t notice. It’s that subtle. Waaaaay more capable. No loss in MPG that I have noticed. Win win.
They are good though, I ran some on my E30.
Just got back from a 1000 mile road trip in 275s Falken Wildpeaks. Very impressed, smooth ride to Costco. Did slight forest road driving and didn’t slow me down. Loving them.
Have around 25k on my wild peaks tread is still excellent, they do excellent in north east winters too.
Never had the Grapplers but had AT3W’s and was very happy with how quiet they were on pavement compared to other ATs i’ve had.
The falkens are great both on and off road. I put them on my 2020 in the standard P265/70/17 size. My rig is built for child hauling so I wanted a smooth ride. I have taken it off road many times and the falkens handled amazing.
Falken here for 40000km all year around here in canada, great in snow, offroad, gravel, bad on ice... But after two winter still alive without any "oh shit" moment. I will buy them again.
My experience with Pirellis in the past, great wear and performance but horribly noisy after about 20,000 miles, to the point I replaced a set on my old Touareg long before they needed it because they were so annoying.
I only put michelins on mine anymore. They are the best tires made, the worst set I ever owned were Pirellis that lasted legit 12k miles and became unbearably loud.
Here’s the thing though: for me, F1 is the worst advertising for Pirelli. Max’s tyre blowout in Baku and blowouts in Qatar, etc? Michelin, here I come!
