Tires Nokia or GISLAVED

If you’re looking for a budget friendly option Nokian sells an all weather time you can drive year round the WRG4 which from my experience is better than the budget winter tires in terms of grip. Had them on my car for almost 5 years now and they’re still great

I would recommend the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 if you could get them.

I just put the studded Hakka 10 on my wife’s new Durango and will never go back. I have the R5 on my car and it’s no comparison to the studded 10s.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta's are the best of the best. You can get both studded and non-studded. You likely don't need the studs, but they certainly help on early morning descents down i70 into Silverthorne.

Long term update for anyone considering the Nokian One. Had them installed in 2022, put 40,000km on the vehicle since, 10k of that was probably on my winter tires. I just passed the 60% indicator. I figure they will last 60,000km.

Nokian tires are pretty good. It's not a Goodyear, but they will perform very well.

Honestly, if you have the option to get the Nokian Hakkas I would grab those. I had Nokian Haakas when I had my Golf about 8 years ago for 4 winters in Montreal. I used to drive to the mountains to go snowboarding with my daughter on weekends at the cottage and never had an issue with driving. We get ice, dumps of snow, slush and just about everything you can get in a winter season that always seems to last forever. Looooooved the Haakas.

For a guy who lives in Finnish coast. We used Nokian since it is local, but other brands and models that I often see are Michelin X Ice and Michelin studded tyre variant, Continental Viking Contact or its studded variant, lastly Goodyear Ultragrip Ice or its studded variant.

Had a set on my Volvo. They were good in the winter, but only okay in the summer, and they met an early demise on a gravel road in the Sangres

Nokian Outposts: 2,390 mi. 9.8% worse efficiency. Would not recommend Nokians: Probably great offroad. Nothing short of scary on road. These tires are totally overwhelmed with the weight and power combo of the Rivian quad platform.
