Tires Nokia or Achilles

Achilles Tires

I really like my 195/55R15 Achilles ATR Sports. They wear relatively quickly (within 30k-40k miles), but man they're great tires for the money. I've never had an issue with them in the rain either.

Pros: great tires for money
Cons: wear relatively quickly

Nokia Tires

The first winter I had my current car, I went out and bought a set of generic steel rims and Nokian Hakkapeliitta's. Expensive but oh so worth it.

Pros: oh so worth it
Cons: expensive

Studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9, give them their own rims, 4-5 years of always being able to stop, going is easy, it's stopping that matters.

Pros: always being able to stop

I'm running 235/45/17 on my car and I had to get 5mm spacers up front to clear the coilovers. Car is on stock 04 GLI wheels now.

Pros: clear the coilovers
Cons: needed 5mm spacers

I’d also recommend the Yokohama Avid Ascend series as a good all season, and the Nokian One (it’s a new tire, I’m running them on my fiancé’s car right now and while they aren’t the quietest, if you’re not a car buff they’ll be perfect for you)

Pros: perfect for you
Cons: aren’t the quietest

Nokia Tires

I'm a fan of Nokian WR G4's for year round use. We loved them during our MN winters and enjoyed that we could keep them on all year.

Pros: loved in winter, year-round use

Nokia Tires

I had a LOT of luck with my Nokian hakka R9s this winter on the LX470, but it's a studded tire. the x-ice were quieter but that's possible due to studs. As of now, I would highly recommend Nokians.

Pros: a lot of luck, highly recommend
