Tires Nexen or BFGoodrich

Nexen Tires

We choose to wrap the wheels in Nexen N3000 235/35/19. To be honest they were the cheapest Tires I could find. Another review will come after Jen racks a couple of miles on them.

Pros: cheapest tires

BFGoodrich Tires

I have BF Goodrich G-force T/A KDW2 on my GTI... They are FANTASTIC in the rain. I've gone miles and miles at sustained speeds of over 100mph in the rain with no problems whatsoever.

Pros: fantastic in the rain
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I had the Nexen N3000's for about 23,000 and they were pretty great tires. They were the best tire I've ever had in the wet, decently quiet, balanced well and wore like rocks. If you are looking for good tread life and cheap price then these are great. If you need something sticky, these won't do... I hardly ever drive hard but when I did I found the limits easily. I bought 4 225/40-18's at 67 bucks a piece and sold them 23,000 miles later for 100 bucks and the guy was floored b/c it looked like I never drove on them.

Pros: great in wet, quiet, balanced well, good tread life
Cons: not sticky, limits found easily
Mileage: 23000 km
Part number: N3000

generally i buy BFG or Michelin, as when i worked in a garage, they were the best wearing, least problematic, and best performing tires for my needs.... Falkens/goodyears/bridgestones wear great tires (assuming they bought the correct tire for their application) but each had their troubles... often times it was customer maintinence, people never aligned, checked pressure, or other random issues... other times it was the tires generally wearing out too damned fast, as seen with most of the newer goodyears, and on a trip to test drive for goodyear, they even told me that they were having some issues with wear... bridgestones just never impressed me for the price, as there was a BFG G-force in the mix that was always as good...

Pros: best wearing, least problematic
Cons: wear out too fast

Nexen Tires

despite what people say, the n3000's are that bad. i've had a set for a while now on my could, 195-45-15 on a 15x8, and i've driven the piss out of it, and they've got pretty impressive dry traction and cornering for as cheap as they are... traction goes way down in the rain though, not horrible, but not good either, haha.

Pros: impressive dry traction, cornering
Cons: traction goes way down

I have had this problem too after I got my car back from the shop and had almost new BFGoodrich KDW2's put on. Ever since, the car instantly pulls over to the right to a point where I was always holding the steering wheel a little left everyplace I went. I set the PSI on both sides equally and that helped some, but it still does it so I hope this thread comes up with something. I was just about to go back to the shop and have them re-align it but the guy swears they already did it. Maybe the steering wheel isn't on correctly, they installed a new airbag as well. It makes the car difficult to control around twisties too.

Pros: PSI adjustment helped some
Cons: car pulls right, difficult to control
