Tires MICHELIN or YOKOHAMA

MICHELIN Tires

I put a set of Michelin Crossclimate 2 on my 2016 OBL over a year and a half ago and would not switch to or recommend any other tire for all around use here in New England. Amazing traction in any kind of situation I've been in.

Pros: amazing traction, all situations

I went with the Yokohama Avid Ascend GTs. Very similar tire just higher quality than the stock. Replaced my stock Avid GTs at 46k. Up to 58k now and I can say I like them.

Pros: higher quality than stock
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 46000 km

I have my second set of Yokohama Geolanders GO15s on my '14. The first set had inconsistent tire wear because I let them go without rotation a little too long. I replaced them at 50k. If they had worn evenly I feel I could have gotten the full 65k out of them.

The road noise and mileage are just as good as the Continentals that came stock on mine. I have that little extra grip on the gravel and dirt back roads.

Pros: extra grip, gravel and dirt
Cons: inconsistent tire wear
Vehicle: Subaru
Mileage: 50000 km

The first time I put Michelin Pilot Supersports on my E92 BMW I was awestruck. Not only were those tires amazing, but they were replacing runflats which were garbage in any metric besides their ability to run flat which I never used.

Pros: amazing tires
Cons: runflats were garbage
Vehicle: BMW

Michelin Defender, great sound and 80000 mile tread life warranty. But the Toyos are nothing but hot garbage. I was too cheap to replace them and they gave up the ghost around 35000 miles. I have 25000 miles on the Defenders and still sound the same as new.

Pros: great sound, long life
Cons: Toyos are hot garbage
Mileage: 40200 km

My first set of tyres we an eco Michelin tyre, not even specific to EV, but wore off the car at 24k kms as they started at close to 6mm of rubber and not the 8mm as before.

Cons: wore off at 24k kms
Mileage: 24000 km

MICHELIN Tires

At first I thought they were decent but now at 20k miles they don't grip nearly as well, even with my AWD. I turned off traction control the other day and with a damp road (not raining) I did a 4 wheel burnout up to about 50 mph.

Cons: poor grip, high wear
Vehicle: Kia
Mileage: 32186 km
