Tires MICHELIN or Pirelli

MICHELIN Tires

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. I have these on my Jetta right now and my god I freaking love them! So much better than those crappy Bridgestones EL-400 that came with the car.

Pros: I freaking love them

To the person who said Pilot Exaltos, they are all seasons and in my experience are pretty decent in 3-6 inches of snow. I love Exaltos and they are worth every penny IMO.

Pros: decent in snow, worth it

Pirelli Tires

After seeing the performance of Pirelli in WRC, and some of the direct massive pothole shots my OE Pirellis have taken, I'm impressed with them

Pros: impressed with performance

I can attest to the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. They are freekin excellent: grippy, grippy and predictable in the rain, really quiet, ride nice, and the treadwear warranty can't be beat.

Pros: grippy, predictable in rain

Pirelli Tires

I've been happy with my Pirell P-Zero Nero M+S... Good in cold, wet, slush, muck and even a few inches of snow... very good in the dry too.

Pros: good in cold, wet

My original Pirelli's were loud after 10K miles. I couldn't wait to get rid of them. The Yoko's are very quiet with exceptional handling characteristics.

Pros: very quiet, exceptional handling
Cons: Pirelli's were loud
Mileage: 10000 km

Summer tires are great in the rain. Michelin Pilot PS2's, Dunlop Sport Maxx's, Goodyear Eagles, Pirelli P-Zeros... any of those are going to be outstanding at high speed wet weather driving.

Pros: great in the rain

Pirelli Tires

They're similar to the Pilot Sport Cups in terms of wear but I've been told that their grip levels are a bit below that of the PSCs.

Pros: similar wear to PSCs
Cons: grip levels a bit below

Honestly, the Michelins are generally more recommended here over the Conti's... and after 35k on my 99, the best thing I ever did was get rid of the frickin Michelins, and replaced 'em with Bridgestone Potenza's... SOOOO much better wet traction

Pros: better wet traction
Cons: mediocre wet traction
Mileage: 56310 km
