I'm running 225/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires on my stock 18" Laguna wheels on my Mk6.
NVH is similar to the stock tires, but they have way more grip.
Michellin Pilot A/S3+ 235/45/17
Potholes have nothing on me. Great grip in rain and dry. Cabin is a lot quieter than when I have Continental A/S.
I've had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ on my R since late April. Very happy with their street performance. I did it as a compromise from having to keep a set of dedicated winters around.
I just purchased last week, went with the pilot Sport a/s 3 +. I was also looking at the Conti DWS06. The have better reviews for snow driving. Figured I will drive my SUV when it snows, so went with the better performance. Seem pretty good so far, only about 50 miles in though.
I just got Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on my 19 Santiago wheels and I really like them, amazing grip both on wet and dry, would recommend them!
Wrapped in Kumho Ecsta V720 tires, have less than 5000 miles on them
Kumho AT51 have been really good. Really quiet, great in winter, but feels like you driving on ice at high speeds (80mph) which is expected from these tires.
Currently i have Stock tires on my Tiguan but im looking to put Michelin Premier LTX on it i have that on my old car it reduce road noise a little and its great on wet i was going 80mph on my old cars on pouring rain.
I run Falkens, but used to run Kumho, and they wear pretty quick.........
I totally agree with ALL your comments about the stock Michelins. It is a shame VW but such a crappy tire on such a fine car. The HXMX4 is one of the lowest rated all season tires based on user reviews at Tire Rack. I was really happy to send the Michelins to the recycling bin...
