Tires MICHELIN or Falken

MICHELIN Tires

Both are really good tires, but the DWS are definitely giving up some warm weather performance in exchange for some limited cold weather usage (they are not going to replace a full-on snow tire). I live in the south, so that trade-off would not be worth it on my R--I freaking love the wet/dry grip of the PS4s, it is better than the PSS (which was a great tire in its own right).

Pros: really good tires, great grip
Cons: giving up warm performance

Falken has done well by me. Not the smoothest ride imho but good grip and stability.

Falken Tires

Since the last road rally I've changed out the OEM Firestones for OEM sized Wildpeaks. With the OEM tires I basically had to do the whole event in 4Hi. I've got so much more traction now that I was able to do all of yesterdays event in 2WD with Trac Off.

Pros: more traction
Vehicle: Toyota

MICHELIN Tires

I put Michelin Defenders on my car, I needed a fairly durable all season tire for the Michigan roads. Plus the warranty on them is something insane like 80,000 miles. I did notice a small drop in fuel efficiency, but the flip side has been that it's nigh impossible to slide or skid (I've tried, trust me) with them.

Pros: durable all season tire
Cons: small drop in efficiency
Vehicle: Mazda 3

Falken Tires

I tried the Pirellis on Saturday and was sliding around a bit. Used the Falkens on Sunday and once I got the pressures right, I had good grip with no understeer or oversteer.

Pros: good grip, no oversteer
Cons: need pressure adjustment

MICHELIN Tires

Another vote for the Continental DWS... I have had them for front tires on my '06 for about a year..only reason I haven't replaced the stock rears is because they still have tread left at 73K!(they are Michelin Primacys which are a nice tire but only under dry or wet conditions..tread life is awesome, but they're terrible in snow)

Pros: awesome tread life
Cons: terrible in snow
Mileage: 73000 km
