I would recommend the Bridgestone Turanza LS. I recently replaced my worn Falken FZ451s with these tires, and am very pleased. I have had the tires for a week and a half now, and the first immediate improvement is the complete elimination of impact harshness and bump-steer. Also, the noise is GONE; these tires are basically silent. The wet traction seems to be basically identical to the high-performance summer Falkens. High speed still feels completely stable and responsive. Handling overall is probably 92% of what it was...still excellent, very catchable, and the tires do not protest when pushed.

Pros: silent, stable, responsive
Cons: slightly lower limit
Vehicle: Volkswagen

BRIDGESTONE Tires

Id just stick with the S03. We had a survey printed out off of tirerack.com at work that compared all max parformance tires, or most of them. Number 1 was the S03, number 2 was the Michelin Pilot Sport and i dont even remember seeing the Firestone on the list...

Pros: Number 1 in survey

After driving these tires, I noticed that the ride was much firmer and settled. The wheels now feem much heavier than before. You can feel the difference. They are very grippy. I floored it a couple of time to try and peel out, and it was very hard. In all honestly, theyre good tires, but my only gripe is that they are a little too heavy IMHO.

Pros: very grippy, good tires
Cons: a little too heavy

I have a 5 speed GLX and use Blizzaks. Everyone will chime in on how they don't handle well in dry conditions but they're not as bad as they're made out to be. To me the whole point of a "snow" tire is to sacrifice some dry road handling for ice & snow performance. I make that comprimise for a few months per year to have great ice & snow traction and I'd think up in your area that would be more of a priority.

Pros: great ice & snow traction
Cons: sacrifice dry road handling

MICHELIN Tires

We have Michelins on our 02 and Continentals on our 03. Performance wise (both wet, dry, snow & ice) they are pretty close to equals. We just don't have enough miles to compare wear yet.

Pros: close to equals
Vehicle: BMW

Michelin's came with my car and I have no complaints about them. They handle well in both dry and wet weather and I like the ride I get from them

Pros: handle well, good ride

BRIDGESTONE Tires

I had about 15K miles on the RE950’s on my previous car before I sold it. Absolutely pleased with the tire. No complaints. It handled what ever I asked of it, had great wet and dry traction, and seemed to be wearing well.

Pros: great wet and dry traction
Cons: no complaints
Vehicle: Audi
Mileage: 24140 km

I've had both now (99 with Michelins, 03 with Contis). I agree, I think the Michelins \"look\" more sporty (for lack of a better term), but for driving performance, so far I find them fairly equivalent (which is not suprising since they get extremely similar ratings at tirerack.com). Both suck in comparison to the Bridgestones I had put on my 99 tho. (IMO)

Pros: look more sporty
Cons: suck in comparison
Mileage: 643 km

one of the michelins on my car blew at about 14,000 mi. it had a slash/crack on the sidewall not covered by any warrenty......It could have been a slasher or road hazard but I had driven out of my driveway and down the road a couple of miles and then it blew.......if someone knifed it it seems it would have been flat before I left..........I don't recall any debris on the road that could've caused the cut........other than that they seemed ok....

Pros: seemed ok
Cons: blew out, sidewall crack
Mileage: 22530 km
