Michelin is the only brand I'm always completely happy with...Midrange and up tires from other brands like Bridgestone (Potenza 750 and similar) and BFG (G-Force Sport)...have been okay but there always end up being some characteristics that make me wish I'd spent the extra $100 on some Michelins, like getting really noisy after a year, not working well in the rain and slush, not balancing absolutely perfectly, weird resonant noises at various speeds, etc.

Pros: always completely happy
Cons: noisy after a year

Ran the Xi3's this past winter when I was traveling 200 miles every 8 weeks, with the same trip most weekends. Tires ran quiet on highway, stable performance in wet or dry. We saw some ice and it gripped as if it was wet. No complaints

Pros: quiet on highway, stable performance

I'm running 225/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires on my stock 18" Laguna wheels on my Mk6.

NVH is similar to the stock tires, but they have way more grip.

Pros: more grip, similar NVH

Michellin Pilot A/S3+ 235/45/17

Potholes have nothing on me. Great grip in rain and dry. Cabin is a lot quieter than when I have Continental A/S.

Pros: great grip, quieter cabin

Correct they're renamed RE-11's. I only use them for summer since I'm in the Chicago area. I've had them on the car for three summer's now and they're pretty much done for now but that includes a couple track days per summer. They're probably about 90% of the PSS in the end they lack the ultimate grip of the PSS but at about a 1/3 of the price. I'd wager I've put about 25k on them in the three summers which is pretty good for a summer only tire.......

Pros: good for summer, good price
Cons: lack ultimate grip
Mileage: 40233 km

I've had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ on my R since late April. Very happy with their street performance. I did it as a compromise from having to keep a set of dedicated winters around.

Pros: happy with street performance
Vehicle: Audi A5

I just purchased last week, went with the pilot Sport a/s 3 +. I was also looking at the Conti DWS06. The have better reviews for snow driving. Figured I will drive my SUV when it snows, so went with the better performance. Seem pretty good so far, only about 50 miles in though.

Pros: better performance
Mileage: 80 km

MICHELIN Tires

I had them on my Previous two cars (Acura TL, BMW 328xi coupe) and they were great. However, they wore pretty quickly and in my opinion weren't worth the $900 I spent on them.

Pros: great performance
Cons: wore pretty quickly
Vehicle: BMW

BRIDGESTONE Tires

My car has RE97AS's on it. Basically rated 2.6 on ice traction...no wonder I slid down the entire off ramp. Ordered some blizzak LM-32's and some new rims.

Pros: ordered blizzak LM-32's
Cons: 2.6 on ice traction
