With that said, I got the Michelin Defender LTX for my car and I've never experienced better traction, especially during rain and a 2-3 inches of water on the road. You barely even feel it.
I will say, we got a set of Michelin Cross Climate 2s at Costco for our Subaru Impreza and love them.
I got michelin xice3 I think on my cadillac for Toronto slush and snow it's great
I like Michelin for nice ride quality tires for an appliance car. Replaced the Pirellis on our Tiguan recently with Michelin Defenders and they are as smooth as anticipated. Big improvement.
IMO Michelin PS4's. They stick great in the heat and hook up in the rain too. Only complaint for me was they wore down pretty fast on track days but the track was superhot and I was pushing the car. I don't know the price range on these but in Europe they are great bang for your buck. Just under 100 USD balanced and mounted each wheel and tire here in Europe
I put these on our eGolf back in Sept. Haven't had any bad weather but imo they are great. Way better wet grip than the oem tires. Ride is great, even having gone from 16s to 18s. Slightly more road noise, but I only hear it because my car is an EV. Economy has actually been pretty similar, maybe using a fewer more kw than before but not drastic.
I tried the Michelin Cross Climate 2 in the snow lately and they grip great (AWD A4) and better yet, they stop great too. Would buy again A+++
I went with Michelin CrossClimate2's on my 2017 Alltrack with the APR ECU and TCU stage 1 tune. Previously I had the Vredestein Quatrac 5 tires which were pretty good too but a tad noisy on fresh blacktop. I don't get enough snow in the Cincinnati area to really merit a set of summer vs winter tires. CrossClimate2's have been on since April and its been a fantastic tire so far. Very quiet and great handling.
I warrantied my OEM set (replaced at 14k miles) and never contacted michelin myself, just went to discount tire and inquired about it with them. As for the tires wearing out after 14k miles: I did do some occasional aggressive driving, but nothing too out of the ordinary. Evenly worn all around and rotated every 5k.
My newish Michelin Defenders did that.
